Purpose: This study aims to calculate the frequency and describe characteristics of FP in patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD) from Nakhonpathom hospital. Method: We analyzed data of PD patients who had peritonitis (PN) during 2012-2017 and were registered in the Database of Peritoneal dialysis in Excel (DPEX). Result: There were 28 (28 patients) episodes of FP from 478 episodes of PN during 2012-2017 (5.9% of all PN). The yearly episodes of FP were 3 from 39 (7.7%), 5 from 80 (6.3%), 5 from 88 (5.7%), 2 from 80 (2.5%), 6 from 86 (6.9%) and 7 from 105 (6.7%) of all PN in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, respectively. The characteristics and outcomes of FP were shown in table 1. Conclusion: The average frequency of FP in PD patients at Nakronpathom hospital was 6%. Higher than 50% of patients with FP were primary infection. Most of FP patients could be reinserted tenchkhoff catheter. |
